    very interesting architecture, don’t see anything like that in the pacific northwest.

      Yes, the architecture in Old Louisville is quite bizarre! There was a huge boom here after the Civil War, and the architects went out of control with all kinds of combinations of Victorian styles.

        It’s got a gothic feel for sure, and a strange bit of whimsy with all the different window designs and placements. I bet they are even more interesting on the inside, provided they did not get ungodly re-do’s. May I ask, is this a highbrow neighborhood?

        In the last quarter of the 19th century, it was a very well-to-do neighborhood. These days, it’s the most demographically diverse neighborhood in the city. Many of the interiors have been gutted over the years, many have been restored to their original beauty, and some have never really had anything done to them inside.
